Foundation
Team, tooling, supply chain, distribution, baseline measurement. Foundation that takes longer than expected is itself signal — either the constraints are misspecified, or the case is more complex than the input suggested.
Every case is always in exactly one state. There are no hybrid or undefined states. State determines which actions are legal and how the same signal must be interpreted.
Cases may also exit sideways into Kill or Release. Those are not failure states — they are successful outputs of disciplined decision-making, and the resources they recover become inputs for the next case.
Is this worth investigating further?
Do the attributes actually hold in reality?
How fast can we scale what is validated?
Is this ready to leave the machine?

The heart of the system. Each attribute is identified, made measurable, and tested against a pre-defined threshold. Quality here determines the quality of every downstream decision.
Begins only after attribute-testing produces evidence of asymmetric commitment. Failed attributes are explicitly removed even if they were part of the original thesis.
Operations stabilise. Knowledge is documented. The case leaves the core machine — Indicio must not be burdened with long-term operational attention.
Advance to the next state.
Increase commitment asymmetrically.
Terminate and recover resources.
Remove from the core system while preserving optional upside.
